More than just a grind

Come for the weekend. Stay for the Ride

Sure, you could show up Saturday morning, ride your bike, eat something and head home.

You could also eat a granola bar over the kitchen sink for dinner.

Dirty Sheets is built around a simple idea: the ride is the reason to gather, but it doesn’t have to be the whole story.

Come early. Stay late. Bring the family. Bring the dog. Ahem… the well-mannered furry kind.

Bring the friends who love sitting around a fire and listening to live music.

Or just bring yourself.

Bring All the Bikes.

Around here, the roadies gave the smooth, rolling paved roads a name: Silk Sheets.

The gravel roads between them became: Dirty Sheets.

And the area MTB trails we built? Well, those are just epic.

So no, this doesn’t have to be a gravel-only weekend.

Add in singletrack, plenty of quiet paved roads, and miles and miles of gravel, and suddenly packing only one bike feels like a lack of imagination.

Bring the gravel bike. Bring the mountain bike. Bring the road bike.

Or bring whatever bike makes you want to stay another day.

The Weekend at a Glance

Thursday: Packet Pick-up Party
Friday: Shakeout rides, camping, live music and firepits.
Saturday: Gravel, singletrack, a little suffering, food, art, music and a proper post-ride festival.
Sunday: Coffee, sweet treats and a slow roll through the parts of Chattahoochee Hills you may have missed while staring at the wheel in front of you.

Thirty minutes from Downtown Atlanta. A world away.

Here’s how your weekend will all unfold.

Thursday, October 15

S&S Fire Pits Packet Pick-Up Party
Getting into town early?
Good decision.

Pick up your packet Thursday evening so Friday can be used for more important things—like riding bikes, setting up camp and arguing with your friends about whose tent setup is unnecessarily complicated.

Our friends at S&S Fire Pits are hosting the unofficial start to the weekend. This is perfect for local riders coming from around Atlanta, but everybody is welcome.

There will be:

  • Cold beverages
  • Firepits
  • S’mores
  • Early packet pickup
  • People already telling stories before the weekend officially starts

Location
S&S Fire Pits
2411 Sullivan Rd
College Park, GA 30337
Time: 5:00–7:00 PM

At early packet pickup, you’ll receive your event T-shirt, pre-purchased swag and racenumber with timing hardware.
Important: Do not fold, bend or distort your number. Mount it clearly on the front of your handlebars.

Friday, October 16

Roll In. Set Up Camp.
Camping opens Friday at Dirty Sheets Basecamp. We’ll be ready for you early.
Pick a spot.
Set up camp.
Unpack too much stuff.
Realize you forgot one very important thing.
Borrow it from the people camping next to you.
Make new friends.
That’s pretty much how camping works.

Location:
Goodes Camp / NGMBA Headquarters
Atlanta-Newnan Road

Third right, approximately ¼ mile from Hutcheson Ferry Road
Find Goodes Camp in Google Maps

Friday Shakeout Ride
Come loosen up the legs with us on a modified version of the famous Dirty Sheets route.
We’re planning roughly 20-ish miles.
“20-ish” is an important unit of measurement in gravel cycling.
Expect a “mostly” relaxed ride with a few spicy segments, some great roads and a chance to see what makes this area special before Saturday gets serious-ish.
More Bikes? Good.
We’re also working on a mountain bike ride at nearby Cochran Mill Park for anyone who
brought the knobby-tire bike.

Friday Shakeout Ride
Rollout: 2:00 PM
Distance: Approximately 25-ish miles
Pace: Easy(ish) to Moderate with some accelerations

Friday Night Packet Pickup at Basecamp

Packet Pickup: 6:00–8:00 PM
Didn’t make Thursday’s party?
No problem. Pick up your number, shirt and pre-purchased swag right at Basecamp. Then stick around.

We’ll have:

  • Live music
  • Firepits
  • S’mores
  • Cold beverages
  • Camping
  • Good people
  • An entire weekend still sitting in front of you

Saturday, October 17

Saturday Morning. Get Dirty.
This is the big one.
The ride.
The race.
The reason we all got together in the first place.

Whether you’re chasing a podium, chasing your friends or simply trying to finish before somebody eats all the good food—don’t worry, that won’t happen—Saturday is your day on the Dirty Sheets.

You’ll find all the sweet details about routes, distances, start times, aid stations and everything else throughout the site.

Saturday Afternoon & Evening
Dirty Sheets Festival, Art Market & Expo
Noon-6:00PM
Open to anyone and everyone.
Non-Riders, we will have a $20 food and drink tickets the day of the event. Children under 12 – $10

Some people spend the entire ride thinking about watts.
Some of us spend it thinking about what we’re going to eat when we finish.
We understand both types.

After the ride, we’ll gather back at the Serenbe Wildflower Meadow for an afternoon and evening of food, cold beverages, live music, art, vendors, bike-industry friends and all the people you just spent the day getting dirty with.

Community market meets bike expo meets outdoor music festival.

We’re planning:

  • Artists and makers
  • Cycling brands
  • Local businesses
  • Fresh cooked eats
  • Cold drinks. Adult and otherwise. We don’t judge.
  • Live music
  • Riders telling increasingly heroic versions of what happened out there

And absolutely no pressure to leave the second your Wahoo says: Ride Saved.
We ride to earn the after-party.
We plan to make sure it was worth the work.

Specific music, food, artist and vendor announcements will roll out as the weekend gets closer.

Sunday, October 18

The Dirty Sheets Coffee Ride
Before dismantling camp—and there’s no rush, by the way—meet us in Serenbe for coffee and something sweet. You earned it.

Then we’ll roll out at 9:00 AM for a mellow 20-ish-mile stroll through some of the gravel roads, quiet corners and Chattahoochee Hills scenery we may have missed over the previous two days.

  • This is a conversation ride.
  • If you can’t talk because you’re out of breath, you’re going too fast.
  • We’ll check out a few waterfalls.
  • Stop and say hello to the cows.
  • Take in the scenery.
  • Heck, we may even stop and pick a few flowers.

Then we’ll roll back into Serenbe, where there are plenty of choices for another coffee, more breakfast or whatever sounds good after a slow morning on the bike.

From there, it’s an easy stroll back to Basecamp.
Pack up when you’re ready.
Say goodbye to the people you didn’t know three days ago.
Load too many bikes back into the car.
Then head home tired, happy and carrying a few stories that will probably get better every time you tell them.

Sunday Coffee Ride
Rollout: 9:00 AM
Distance: Approximately 20-ish miles
Pace: Relaxed and conversational
