Volunteer

The East Point Velodrome Association, East Point Track Club, Independent Gravel and North Georgia Mountain Bike Association put on a lot of bicycle events throughout the year.

Gravel. Road. Cyclocross. Track. Mountain Bike.

And as much as we’d like to pretend these things magically set themselves up, hand out their own food and somehow clean everything up when they’re over… They don’t.

That’s where you come in.

• You do not need to be a cyclist.
• You do not need to know how bike racing works.
• You do not need to own Lycra.
• You do need to be willing to pitch in, meet some people and help make the day better for everyone who does show up ready to ride.

We’ve got jobs for just about everybody.

Help with registration. Hand out food and drinks at an aid station. Point people in the right direction. Help us set things up and, more importantly, help us make all that stuff disappear again when the event is over.

Like to cook? Perfect.

Have a vehicle with a bike rack and don’t mind driving around for a while? We need you.

Good at carrying things, handing people things, telling people where to go or simply asking “What needs to be done?” Also useful.

WHEN DO WE NEED YOU?

• Gravel, Road and Mountain Bike events throughout the year like this event
• Wednesday nights at the Dick Lane Velodrome in East Point, April–September
• Most weekends during Cyclocross season, October–January

Sometimes for a couple of hours

Sometimes for most of the day

Sometimes until somebody finally says, “I think that’s everything.”

Help once. Help a few times. Become one of those people we eventually start calling because we know you’ll actually show up.

And yes, there are perks.

T-shirts. Food. Drinks. Lots of hugs. Pats on the back are available for you non-huggers.

But mostly, you get to meet some good people, be part of some pretty great events and help make the kind of day people want to come back to.

Ride every week? Great.

Haven’t ridden a bike since middle school? Also great.

Think bicycles are weird but your friend talked you into helping? Honestly, we’ll take that too.
